What this does
  • Quantity columns only, ordered against shipped, the SKU beside each line, and no price field anywhere on the form
  • A short shipment prints the shortfall in orange against the line and adds a back-ordered total at the foot
  • Carrier and tracking in the header, received-by and date-received rules at the foot, on an A4 page whose table head repeats if the shipment runs long

Because the slip travels inside the box and the invoice goes to accounts payable. The slip’s job is to let whoever opens the carton check the contents against a list, which needs descriptions and counts and nothing else. Dropshippers and gift senders have a sharper version of the same reason: the person opening the box is not the person who paid, and a price on the page tells them exactly what it cost. There is no price field on this form at all, so it cannot end up there by accident.
