How it works

Time Duration Calculator for Shifts and Timesheets

Find the hours and minutes between two clock times, overnight shifts included, or stack up a list of durations and read the total as h:m:s and as decimal hours.

What this does
  • A span wraps past midnight whenever the end time reads earlier than the start
  • Deduct an unpaid break in minutes; the gross span is kept on screen beside the net
  • The second mode totals any number of hh:mm:ss rows and averages the ones you filled in

Because that is decimal hours, which is what payroll systems and invoices want: minutes expressed as a fraction of an hour, so half an hour is 0.5 and a quarter is 0.25. Reading 7.30 as seven hours thirty is the most common time-sheet error there is, and it quietly misbills every line it touches. Both readings are shown side by side here so you can copy the right one.
