Which DPI should I pick?

150 is the default and is crisp on a retina screen and on an office printer. 72 matches the PDF’s own point grid, which is what you want for a web preview. 300 renders each page at roughly four times the width and height of 72 DPI, about seventeen times as many pixels, so a long document at 300 takes a while and produces very large files.
