GST & VAT Calculator: Add Tax or Work Backwards

Add GST or VAT to a net figure, or run it in reverse to pull the tax back out of a tax-inclusive price. Pick a preset slab or type any rate, and split it into CGST and SGST if you need to.

What this does
  • Add tax to a net amount, or strip it out of a tax-inclusive price
  • Preset slabs plus any custom rate, up to a sanity limit of 1000%
  • Optional CGST and SGST lines at half the rate each
FAQ

Because the tax was added to the smaller net figure, not to the gross one. Removing it means dividing by 1.18, not subtracting 18%. On a 1,180 invoice the tax is 180 and the net is 1,000; subtracting 18% would give 212.40 and leave you 32.40 out. It is the most common reverse-GST mistake, and the reason the mode selector has a dedicated remove-the-tax setting rather than expecting you to do it by hand.
